Oral Bacteria & Stroke

Categories: Dentistry

A recent study allows a better understanding of the connection between certain types of stroke and bacteria usually found in the mouth. The research teams have more to study but, they believe the bacteria [streptococcus mutans] may bind to weak blood vessel walls. Blood vessels are damages by high blood pressure and increased age. Managing gum health and keeping bacteria in check is critically important to overall bacteria caused inflammation in the whole body.
